Almonds cost = $5.95 per pound

The mixture cost = $4.00 per pound

Total cost of contents of the mixture = $8.90

The pounds of peanuts =
(2.95)/(8.90) x 20

= 6.63

Therefore, 6.63 pounds of peanuts was used in producing 20 pounds of the mixture.
