Please help me on my geometry question, DUE SOON!

If the Area of a regular polygon is 350 units squared and it has an apothem of 10 units, what is the perimeter of the regular polygon?

Answer:

70

Explanation:

Basic Concept: Geometry

Formula:

Area of a polygon =
(pa)/(2)

where p = perimeter and a = apothem

In this problem we are given the area and the apothem and we need to find the perimeter

To do so we want to plug what we are given into the formula and solve for the missing piece.

We are given the area (350) and the apothem (10)

So in the formula we would plug in 350 for the area and 10 for "a"

We would then have

350 = (10p)/(2)

Basic Concept: Algebra

Now we use basic algebra to solve for p (perimeter)

step 1 multiply each side by 2

350*2=700\\(10p)/(2)*2=10p

now we have 700 = 10p

Step 2 divide each side by 10

700/10=70

10p/10=p

we're left with p = 70

So we can conclude that the perimeter is equal to 70
