There are five blue jelly beans, two red jellybeans, one orange jellybean and 2 pink jellybeans in a bag. Once a Jellybean is drawn, it’s not replaced. Find the probability of selecting a blue jellybean and then a pink jellybean.

Probability = Expected outcome/Total outcome

Since we have five blue jelly beans, two red jellybeans, one orange jellybean and 2 pink jellybeans in a bag

Total outcome = 5 + 2 + 1 + 2

Total outcome = 10

Probability of selecting a blue = 5/10 = 1/2

Since it is not replaced, the total ball remaining will be 9

If pink jellybean is picked after, the probability of picking a pink will be 2/9

Hence probability of selecting a blue jellybean and then a pink jellybean = 1/2 * 2/9 = 1/9
