9x-4 / (x²-4)

Explanation:

common denominator is 'x²-4' which is (x-2)(x+2)

the term '7x' already has that denominator but 2/x+2 becomes 2(x-2)/(x²-4)

now you can add 7x to 2(x-2) which is 7x + 2x - 4 or 9x-4 and

your denominator remains as 'x²-4'
