Jeff has 7 dimes and Trevor has 20 nickels. How much more money does Trevor have than Jeff?

Answer:

Trevor has 30 more cents than Jeff.

Explanation:

Jeff:

1 dime = 10 cents.

So we do 10x7=70.

So Jeff has 70 cents.

Trevor:

1 nickel = 5 cents

So we do 20x5 = 100 cents which is the same thing as 1 dollar.

Then we do 100 cents - 70 cents which is 30 cents.

30 more cents. explanation: each nickel is 5 cents so 20x5= 100. each dime is 10 cents so 10x7=70. therefore trevor has 30 more cents.
