The following figure is a trapezium,

So Given,

Parallel sides of the trapezium = 17ft and 39ft

Height of the trapezium = 16ft

Therefore,

Area of the trapezium


= (1)/(2) * (sum \: of \: parallel \: sides) * height


= (1)/(2) * (17ft + 39ft) * 16ft


= (1)/(2) * 56ft * 16ft


= 56ft * 8ft


= 448 {ft}^(2)

Hence,

448 sq.ft is the area of the trapezium (Ans)
