Answer:

2.6 m

Explanation:

The minute hand on an oldfashioned (analog) clock will go completely around the clock 3 times in three hours.

The clock is a circle.

The length of the hand is the radius.

The distance around a circle is the circumference (it is perimeter for a circle!)

Circumference

= (pi)•d OR

= 2(pi)r

So the distance all the way around the clockface ONE TIME

is C = (pi)d = 2(pi)r =(3.14)28

= 87.96459 m

But in three hours it goes around three times.

3(87.96459)

= 263.89378

BUT this is cm and they asked for meters. So divide by 100, because there's 100 cm in a meter.

263.89378/100

~= 2.6 meters

Answer:

263.76cm

Explanation:

r = 14cm

2πr = circumference = distance traveled in 1 hour

3(2πr) = 3x28xπ

π=3.14

= 84x3.14 = 263.76cm

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!
