Answer: 228 feet squared

How: To get the area of the entire field, multiply 25•36 to get 900. To find length of the area inside the path, you have to subtract 2 feet from both sides of 25, which is also 4 feet, to get 25-4=21. To find the width of the area inside the path, you have to subtract 2 feet from both sides of 36, which is also 4 feet, to get 36-4=32. You multiply 21•32 to get 672, which is the area of the field inside of the path. To find the area of the path, you subtract the total area of the field and the path together, which is 900, by 672 to get 228 feet squared.
