Area: make it two rectangles:

13 x 6 and 5 x 7

Area = 113 square m

Perimeter = 13 + 6+8+7+5+13 = 52 m

Answer:

Area : 113 m²

Perimeter : 52 m

Explanation:

Hello!

Area

We can picture this as a complete square with a portion cut off of it.

To solve for the area of this shape, we can simply find the area of the original and subtract the area of the portion cut off from it.

Use the image attached for side lengths.

Find the area:

  • A= (13 * 13) - (8 * 7)

  • A = 169 - 56

  • A = 113

The area of the shape is 113 m².

Perimeter

The perimeter is essentially the sum of the side lengths of the shape. The missing side lengths can be found using some logic and measures of other sides. Refer to the image attached.

Find the perimeter:

  • P = 13 + 6 + 8 + 7 + 5 + 13

  • P = 52

The perimeter of the shape is 52 m.
