Answer: Sound and light are similar in that they both move in waves and are sources of energy. They have wavelength, frequency, and amplitude properties in common. Light can only travel through empty space, while sound can only travel through a medium (substance). Sound is a type of mechanical energy produced by matter vibrations.

Light waves are electromagnetic waves while sound waves are mechanical waves.

sound waves cant travel in vaccums while light wave can, hence why ppl say u can scream in space and ppl wont hear u.
