A construction crew lengthening a road. The road started with a length of 54 miles, and the crew is adding 3 miles to the road each day,

Let L represent the total length of the road (in miles), and let D represent the number of days the crew has worked. Write an equation relating L to D. Then
use this equation to find the total length of the road after the crew has worked 34 days.

Answer:

156 miles

the equation would be L=54 + (D * 3)

L=54 + (43 * 3)

L=54+102

L=156

Explanation:

since you add 3 miles each day, and it is going for 34 days

it would be 34 x 3= 102 so 102 miles.

BUT the road starts as 54 miles

so 54+102= 156 miles
