The length of a rectangle is 8 inches more than the width. The perimeter is 36 inches. Find the length and the width (in inches).

Answer:

width= 5 inches

length= 13 inches

Explanation:

width= W

length= w+8

perimeter= 2(lengths)+ 2(width)

(subsistute is known values)

multiply

36=2(w+8) 2(W)

add

36=4W

Divide both sides by 4

W=5

Length=5+8 inches= 13
