Answer:

The Civil War

Step-by-step explanation:

The Civil War of the 1860s fought between the North (Union) and the South (Confederates). The outcome of the war was worst and bloody. The war saw more casualties than any other war in America. Both sides were affected, but the Southern had to pay price for it.

The reconstruction era began after the Civil War in America. The main goal was to try to correct the issue of Southern states' politics, economic, and social, along with the inequities of slavery. Many newly freed African Americans moved toward peonage, did sharecropping work to pay off debt through labour. The 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments were rectified which gave rights to African Americans.
