take off the parentheses and then take off the number and the degrees symbol with the plus sign

Answer:

x = 16

Explanation:

In a parallelogram , consecutive angles sum to 180° , then

3x + 5 + 9x - 17 = 180

12x - 12 = 180 ( add 12 to both sides )

12x = 192 ( divide both sides by 12 )

x = 16
