Area of the shaded region = Area of rectangle - Area of semicircles sliced off along the width of the rectangle

Area of rectangle = Length × Width

= 34 × 14

= 476 square feet

Area of the semicircle =
(1)/(2)\pi r^2

Here, r = radius of the semicircle

From the picture attached,

Radius of the semicircle =
(14)/(2)

= 7 feet

Therefore, area of the semicircle =
(1)/(2)(\pi )(7)^2

= 76.97 square feet

Area of the shaded region = 476 - 2(76.97)

= 476 - 153.94

= 322.06 square feet
