Serotonin, like acetylcholine, is a neurotransmitter. However, if serotonin were released from the nerve cell above, it would not be able to communicate with the muscle cell. Why is this?

Answer:

Muscle cells don't have serotonin receptors

Step-by-step explanation:

Muscle cells respond to AcH to contract. Although serotonin is a neurotransmitter, it isn't that type of neurotransmitter for that specific tissue.
