This contamination occurs due to the lack of hygiene of the handlers and storage problems, which can allow microorganisms, mostly bacteria, to grow in the food. Thus, when the contaminated food is ingested, the microorganisms will release toxins in the stomach that will cause disease. In the case of water, contamination can also happen due to the lack of basic sanitation and the incorrect dumping of garbage and human waste.
Diseases transmitted from person to person can occur in many different ways. One of the best known ways is through the contact of a healthy person with salivary goths or other body fluids of a person with the disease. However, this transmission can also occur through the contact of a healthy individual with the feces of a sick individual and even with physical contact with a sick individual.
