On a given planet, the weight of an object varies directly with the mass of the object. Suppose that an object whose mass is 9 kg weighs 63 N . Calculate the mass of another object that weighs 14 N.

The mass is 2 kg.

Explanation:

W = kM where k is a constant so

63 = k*9

k = 7

So: W = 7M

when W = 14:

14 = 7M

M = 2.
