The rate of change for the data given in the table is 10.

The rate of change of y with respect to x can be calculated thus ;

  • Change in y / change in x

.Taking the pair of points from the table given; (-2.5, -32); (-1, -17)

Change in y = -17 - (-32) = 15

Change in x = -1 - (-2.5) = 1.5

The rate of change = 15/1.5 = 1

Therefore, the rate of change is 10.
