The perimeter of a rectangle is 14cm. The length of the rectangle is 4 cm more than twice the width. Find the dimensions of the rectangle.

Answer:

length = 6 cm

width = 1 cm

Explanation:

l = length

w = width

l = 4 + 2w

2(4 + 2w) + 2w = 14

8 + 4w + 2w = 14

8 + 6w = 14

6w = 6

w = 1

find length:

l = 4 + 2(1)

l = 6
