you can find the slope of the line from a graph using the formula rise/run, where rise is the change in y and run is the change in x

let's start with a clear point; for example, (-1,-3)

we need to go up, down, left, or right to get the rise/run

up/down is considered the rise

left/right is considered the run

if we go up or to the right, that's considered a positive move

if we go down or to the left, that's considered a negative move

we'll go from (-1,-3) to another clear point, like (3,4) for example

starting at (-1,-3):

go up 7, to the point (-1,4)

then move 4 to the right to get to the point (3,4)

we went up 7, so our rise is 7

we moved to the right 4, so that is our run

our slope then is 7/4
