Answer:

1/10

Explanation:

First, convert your numbers to decimals.

2.5 cans of paint cover 0.25 area of a room.

Equation:

2.5=0.25

If you divide 2.5 by 5, you'll get 0.5.

But what you do to one side, you do it to the other.

0.25÷5= 0.05

So now you have your new equation

0.5=0.05

since you want 1 can of paint, multiply it by 2.

1= 0.1

convert it back to fraction: 1/10
