slope = (y2 -y1 )/(x2 - x1) \\ = ( - 4 - 2)/( - 1 - 2) \\ = ( - 6)/( - 3) \\ = 2

even if x₁ = -1, y₁ = -4 and x₂ = 2, y₂= 2 the result remains the same.
