Answer:

y=3x^2+9x-30

Explanation:

To multiply
(3x+15) with
(x-2) we can use a method called the FOIL method. FOIL is an acronym standing for First, Outer, Inner, Last. This is the order in which we need to multiply. The first terms of each multiplier are
3x and
x. Therefore, we multiply these two terms to get
3x^2. The outer terms are
3x and
-2. Once again, we multiply these terms.

(3x)(-2)=-6x

Now, our equation looks like this:
y=3x^2-6x. We're not finished yet though. Next, we need to multiply the inner terms,
15 and
x. This comes out as simply
15x. Now our equation looks like this:
y=3x^2-6x+15x. We just need to multiply the last terms,
15 and
-2. This comes out as
-30.

Our equation at this point has been fully multiplied:

y=3x^2-6x+15x-30

We can see that we still have two like terms,
-6x and
15x. These can be combined to simply
9x. Our final equation, then, is this:
y=3x^2+9x-30
