Determine the value of the charge of an electron

The larger the electronegativity value is, the stronger the attraction of electrons to an atom is. This means that in a covalent bond the atom with the higher electronegativity value will have a slightly negative charge since it pulls the electron(s) towards itself while the other atom gain a slightly positive charge since the electrons move further away from its nucleus.
