Answer:

8.25 feet² → area of the sail

Explanation:

Base (b) = 3 feet

Height (h) = 5 ½ = 11/2

Area of the sail / triangle

= ½ bh

= ½ × 3 × 11/2

= 33/4

= 8.25 feet²

Hope it helps ⚜

given:

base = 3 \: ft

heigh = 5 (1)/(2) \: ft

to find:

the area of the triangle sail.

solution:

5 (1)/(2) = 5.5

a = (hb)/(2)

a = (5.5 * 3)/(2)

a = 8.25 \: {ft}^(2)

hence, the area of the triangular sail is 8.25 square feets.
