A given line has the equation 10x+2y=-2
What is the equation, in slope-intercept form, of the line that is parallel to the given line and passes through the
point (0, 12)?
O y=-5x+12
O 5x+y=12
O y-12=5(x-0)
5x+y=-1

A parallel line has the same gradient

First you will need to rearrange the equation 10x+2y=-2

Then once you do that please comment

If you don’t know how please comment

Answer:
a) y = -5x + 12

10x + 2y = -2
-10x -10x
2y = -10x - 2
/2v /2
y = -5x - 1

y = mx + b
y - y1 = -m(x - x1)
y - 12 = -5(x - 0)
y - 12 = -5x + 0
y - 12 = -5x
+ 12 + 12
y = -5x + 12

Hope this helps!
