3x - 3 = x + 7

Find x

Add 3 to both sides

3x - 3 + 3 = x + 7 + 3

3x = x + 10

3x - x = 10

2x = 10

LM= 3x - 3

LM = 3(5) - 3

LM = 12

Since LM = MN, then MN = 12
