Area of a circle

Find the area of a circle with a diameter of 4. How do you find they area of a circle?

To find the area of a circle use the formula
\large\tt A=\pi r^2 or
\large\tt A=\pi * r * r

Where π = 3.14 correct to 2 decimal places, r = radius, and d = diameter. The radius is half of the diameter.

  • \tt A=\pi r^2

  • \tt A=3.14* 2^2

  • \tt A =3.14* 4

  • \tt A={12.56units^2}

Therefore, the area of a circle is 12.56 sq. units
