also given Length + Width = 150 inches,


3x - 5 + x = 150 \\ 4x - 5 = 150 \\ 4x = 150 + 5 \\ 4x = 155 \\ x = 155 / 4 \\ = 38.75in

Since

Length = 3x-5 in

Width = x in,

Length = 3(38.75) - 5 = 111.25 in

Width = 38.75 in
