if i did my math right it should be 216-(6.2*x) 191-(4.9*x)

Explanation:

216-(6.2*x) 191-(4.9*x) and if you go up the line from 0 from the first and second equation you will end up at 8 and 5 so Ahab will have to stick to his plans for 8 months/but if it means how much if he needs to reach near or exactly 191 pounds then it would be only 216-(6.2*x) for the equation and the answer would be 4 months
