The audience may also have heightened emotions due to the lighting for instance dark lighting and spooky lighting may be useful when a scary movie, story, play is watched or told. Lighting can also be used to help create a sense of suspense. Things such as candle light may be useful for a spooky or romantic scenario depending upon the setting and context. If i was in a area with light and dreamlike lighting and a scary story was being told i wouldn't be scared. Once i went to a scary play and lighting was very low and lights such as red, and black lights were being used to create and ominous effect.
