Given:

The length of the rectangle =
y^2+3y+7

Width of the rectangle =
y-3

To find:

How much longer is the length?

Solution:

We need to find the difference between length and width of the rectangle.

Difference=Length-Width

Difference=y^2+3y+7-(y-3)

Difference=y^2+3y+7-y+3

Difference=y^2+(3y-y)+(7+3)

Difference=y^2+2y+10

Therefore, the length of the rectangle is
y^2+2y+10 much longer than the width.
