What does it mean by “it’s a long road when you face the world alone?”

It means that you basically go through a lot when you’re alone, no one can help you along the way when you’re going on in life (in contrast to having a long journey by yourself).

If you “face” the world alone , things will be much more difficult and harder to achieve (the road will be longer ) however if you face life with others it would become shorter
