Note: We need to find the number of total box tops instated of total number of cans.

Given:

Trinity collected 36 box tops.

Peyton collected
1(1)/(2) times as many as Trinity.

To find:

The number of box tops they did collect all together.

Solution:

It is given that,

Number of box tops collected by Trinity = 36

Number of box tops collected by Peyton =
1(1)/(2)* 36

=
(3)/(2)* 36

=
54

Total =
36+54

=
90

Therefore, the total number of box tops collect all together is 90.
