given:
(-2,4) and (6,-6)

formulas:
m = y2 - y1 / x2 - x1 (slope)
y - y1 = m(x - x1)

step #1. find the slope.

m = y2 - y1 / x2 - x1

plug in (-2,4) and (6,-6)

(-6) - (4) / (6) - (-2)
m = -5/4

step #2 find the equation for the line.

plug in (-2,4) and -5/4.

y - y1 = m(x - x1)

y - 4 = -5/4(x + 2)
