Positive:

  • It established Social Security
  • More were opportunities available
  • Provided Americans with optimism and hope
  • The unemployment rate decreased
  • There were public works projects

Negative

  • African Americans were excluded
  • The jobs were temporary
  • It gave too much power to the President and federal government and too little power left for the people
  • It didn't solve the Great Depression
  • It was expensive with lots of deficit spending
