Explanation:

3x + y = 11 ...(1)

2x - y = 4 ...(2)

From equation (1) we get,

3x + y = 11

x = 11 - y/3

Now, put the value of x = 11 - y/3 in equation (2) we get,

2x - y = 4

2(11 - y/3) - y = 4

22 - 2y/3 - y = 4

22 - 2y - 3y = 12

22 - 5y = 12

5y = 22- 12

5y = 10

y = 10/5

y = 2

Now, Put the value of y = 2 in equation (1)

3x + y = 11

3x + 2 = 11

3x = 11 - 2

3x = 9

x = 9/3

x = 3

Thus, The value of x is 3 and y is 2

FOR VERIFICATION ONLY:

3x + y = 11

3(3) + 2 = 11

9 + 2 = 11

11 = 11

2x - y = 4

2(3) - 2 = 4

6 - 2 = 4

4 = 4

Hence, L.H.S = R.H.S
