Think about multiplying any two rational numbers. Based on this activity and your previous work, write a set of rules for finding the sign of the product based on the sign of the two numbers being multiplied.

Answer:

Positive (+) * positive (+) = +

Negative (-) * negative - = +

Negative (-) * positive (+) = -

Positive (+) * negative (-) = +

Explanation:

How result of the product of two numbers are affected by the sign on each number being multiplied :

Signs on number values may be positive (+) or negative (-)

The rules goes thus :

Positive (+) * positive (+) = +

Negative (-) * negative - = +

Negative (-) * positive (+) = -

Positive (+) * negative (-) = +

Therefore for any tow rational numbers, the sin of their product will follow the rules above.
