There were 680 gallons of water ALREADY in a 1600-gallon pool. Water is being pumped into the pool at the rate of 320 gallons per hour. Let x represents the number of hours. Find how many hours it will take to fill the pool.

5hrs = 5x = 1600 question asks us to find 680

2 1/2x + 680-640 =-x + 2.8hrs

2x + 40 = x + 2.8hrs

2x + 40 = 680

Then use the 2.8 to convert into hrs : minutes ie) 0.8 x 60

0.8 * 60 = 48 minutes

Then go back to x + 2.8hrs = x + 2hrs 48mins

2x + 48 = 60

2x + 48 = 60

2x+ 60 - 48

x = 2:12 hours
