Width = w

length =2w - 70

Perimeter = 820 ft

2*(length + width) = 820

2*(2w - 70 + w ) = 820

2 *(2w + w - 70) = 820 {Combine like terms}

2* (3w - 70) = 820

3w*2 - 70*2 = 820

6w - 140 = 820

6w = 820 + 140 {Add 140 to both side}

6w = 960 {Divide both sides by 6}

w = 960/6

w = 160 ft
