A scatter plot (also called a scatterplot, scatter graph, scatter chart, scattergram, or scatter diagram) is a type of plot or mathematical diagram using Cartesian coordinates to display values for typically two variables for a set of data. There are three types of scatter plot correlation: positive, negative, and none (no correlation). Positive Correlation: as one variable increases so does the other. Height and shoe size are an example; as one's height increases so does the shoe size. Negative Correlation: as one variable increases, the other decreases.
