When the sides are doubled, new figure so obtained will have:

Base (b) = 2*3 = 6 units

Height (h) = 2*4 = 8 units

Area of the figure when each sides are doubled


= (1)/(2) * b * h \\ \\= (1)/(2) * 6 * 8 \\ \\ = 3 * 8 \\ \\ = 24 \: square \: unite
