Answer: Look at the explanation. Note that this is from the book.

Explanation:

Alicia: 30/50 = x/30

x=180

They should order about 180 T-shirts.

Thea: 51/60 = x/300

x = 255

They should order about 255.

Note that we got the 300 from what the question said of the population being 300 students.

Hope this helps you!

Answer: 360

Explanation:

Since we are informed from the question that Alicia surveyed 50 students in the cafeteria from the population of 300 students, it simply means that she surveyed 50/300 = 1/6 of the students.

Since Thea surveyed the first 60 students who arrived at school one morning, the number of T-Shirts taht they should order will be:

= 1/6 × x = 60

x = 60 × 6.

x = 360

They should order 360 t-shirts for the students.
