You’re not really looking for what it results to, instead, you’re looking for the value of x

so first step is isolate

2x - 3 = 1

Since -3 is a negative number and we want to undo that number, we’re going to add by 3 to both sides.

2x = 4

Now to find the value of x, divide both sides by 2

x = 2
