Explanation:

(4x-5y)-(x-y) if x=6 and y=-4

step one:

4x=24

5y=-20

24- (-20)= 44

x-y=10

44-10=34

I'm pretty sure I'm right because I worked it out on a calculator and if it changed the minus in 4x-5y to a + then that means the minus here

(4x-5y - < -- (x-y) is not supposed to become a + sign
