The electric current is I, is amperes, in a circuit varies directly as the voltage V. When 12 volts are applied the current is 4 amperes. What is the current when 18 volts are applied

Current varies directly with Voltage

i.e.


I\ \propto V\ or\\V\ \propto\ I\\V=IR

when V=12 V, I=4 A i.e.


\Rightarrow 12=4R\\\Rightarrow R=3\ \Omega

When V=18 V


\Rightarrow 18=I* 3\\\Rightarrow I=6\ A

Current is 6 Ampere
