Answer:

The slope is: m = -²/₅

The y-intercept is: b = -2

The equation of the line: y = -²/₅x - 2

Explanation:

The equation of a line in slope intercept form: y = mx + b

The slope:
m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

(-5, 0) ⇒ x₁ = -5, y₁ = 0

(0, -2) ⇒ x₂ = 0, y₂ = -2

So:

m=(-2-0)/(0-(-5))=-\frac25
