a^8b^(12)

Explanation:

when you raise an exponent to a power you multiply

Also since the terms inside the parenthesis are multiplied and not added, you don't have to worry about expanding it


(a^2b^3)^4 = a^(2*4)b^(3*4)=a^8b^(12)
