Hopes this helps:
Answer: -5.8
1. Add 7.8 to both sides.
-3y = 9.6 + 7.8
2. Simplify 9.6 + 7.8 to 17.4.
-3y = 17.4
3. Divided both sides by -3.
Y= -17.4/3
4. Simplify 17.4/3 to 5.8.
Y= -5.8
